About Toileting

  • If patients have impaired mobility, handrails can be installed next to the toilet seat to facilitate toileting
  • For patients with difficulties in going to the toilet, assistive devices such as urinal, bed pan or commode chair can help to solve the problem
  • Can consider placing a ramp at the toilet entrance to facilitate the access of commode chair
  • May also add a non-slip strip with sharp colour contrast on the threshold to make it more visible

Consult your occupational therapist in case of any questions.
