Other possible causes of dry mouth include:

  • Side effects of medications and treatment
  • Insufficient water intake or dehydration
  • Insufficient oral care may worsen the situation
  • Oral infection

Medical Treatment

  • Healthcare professionals will provide appropriate treatment based on the causes of the symptoms.

Non-medical Treatment

  • Moisten the mouth with water spray
  • Drink more water if dehydrated
  • Eat foods that stimulate saliva secretion or moisturize the mouth, such as
    • Drink lemon water
    • Suck on a small ice cube
    • Chew sugar-free gum
    • Suck on fruit pieces, such as pineapple pieces
  • Use lip balm more often
