Caring Tips >Bathing

About Bathing

  • Choose the bathing time according to the preferences of the patients and availability of carers, such as in the afternoon during winter time as it is warmer
  • Adjust the water to a temperature suitable for the patients. Use a gentle shower gel and rinse with water
  • Pay attention to the hygiene of buttocks including the urethra and anus
  • Sit on a shower chair or bath board to facilitate bathing
  • Place a non-slip mat in the bathtub or standing tub to prevent slip and fall
  • Consider sponge bath or bed bath if the patient is too weak for bathing.

Consult your medical team in case of any questions.
