Service Enhancement for Patient's Benefit

The HA has always been striving to provide holistic care to patients and has started its palliative care services more than twenty years, from the early simple hospitalization model to the present comprehensive integrated service. Currently, the HA manages 10 Palliative Care Centres and 6 Oncology Centres for the provision of palliative care to cancer patients.

To further expand local palliative care services to benefit more patients, with the support from the Li Ka Shing Foundation (LKSF), the HA is now implementing the “Li Ka Shing Foundation Hospice Service Programme” (Hospice Service Programme) jointly with the Foundation since October 2007.  The Hospice Service Programme aims at serving needy terminal cancer patients (children and adults) so that more patients could receive comprehensive palliative care services and end of life care.
